[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

Back in the early to mid 1990s I used to listen to alot of very ernest indie guitar and grunge music. I was at uni at the time in Leeds and I used to buy records at Crash Records on the Headrow and then go see many of the same bands at a rather compact venue called The Duchess of York.

One such band that made a brief splash in the British indie rock scene were Headswim, fronted by one Daniel Glendining. After two albums, the first of which I bought and still love a track called Safe Harvest from it, the band split up. Daniel Glendining went on to form Blackcar, and in 2003 released the eponymous debut album, which was and remains one of my favourite albums. The album was far more introspective and stripped back than the hard rocking Headswim material. I was cheered tonight to find out Glendining is still producing music under the Blackcar banner and a new album maybe due later in the year.

This track is called Roadtrip from the Blackcar album
